The Ideal Web Design And Development Process

Businesses and organizations need to have websites and web solutions that can provide them an extra edge over their rivals. It is very important that the web development company follows a proper web designing and development procedure while creating solutions for them.

One of the first questions that come to mind is “What is an ideal web design and development process”. An ideal web design and development process can be defined as a well conceived process that consists of logical planning and website designing followed by a well documented development stage. Such a process will help the software development company in developing highly professional and functional web solutions that can greatly enhance the image of the business and help in future business growth.
You can’t define a particular process as an ideal one but an ideal process should definitely have the below mentioned steps.

Step 1: Careful And Precise Planning: Every web project must start with careful planning that is precisely done for that particular project. The first thing that you need to do is to conduct proper requirement gathering and analysis. You (the software development company) should communicate with the client and try to understand his exact requirements. Try to draft an initial site map while collecting the requirements. Once you have details about the requirements you should explain the expenses and the time duration required for the project. This will avoid any conflicts later.

Step 2: Implementing The Web Design: Next in line is the implementation of web design. The web designer is required to start building the web pages along with all the required elements of the page. Further, you are also required to create a site structure and link the pages accordingly. A designer is required to have expertise over various designing tools such as Photoshop in order to create mockups. Once the design is approved by the client, you can start working on the HTML and XML coding.

Step 3: Developing The Website: After you have completed the designing phase, you need to move on to the web development phase. Here you are required to conduct server side scripting and integrate the actual functionalities into the web application. A developer’s task is very critical and it will take a lot of words to define it properly. We will just leave it for another post. However, the development phase can be easily completed if the developers are well experienced and have good industry knowledge. Also, make sure that you have properly documented the development phase, including the smallest details.

Step 4: Testing: Testing is an unavoidable phase of website design and development and should be conducted with full dedication and care. Any errors that you miss out during this phase will cost you heavily once the solution is deployed.

The above mentioned steps roughly form an ideal web design and development process. However, the important thing that determines the success or failure of the project is how you perform each step. Each step should be considered as an entity and specialists should be assigned on the project at each step to ensure a successful web solution.
